NFCA president responds and condemns Bob Doylan's Statements !
“We are very disappointed in Mr. Bob Dylan’s analogy and comparison of the Croatian People to Nazi’s and the KKK. The fact is that the Croatian people have never been aggressors or racists. All Croats, most especially Croatian Americans, condemn his statement and demand an immediate apology. We invite Mr. Dylan to sit down with Croats to become more educated on history and to learn the facts. The spread of such hate should not be rewarded by honors, medals nor be allowed the dignity of print in Rolling Stone Magazine.” more

Bosnia and Herzegovina is ready to conduct a cenzus on October 1-15, 2013.
Is BiH ready for first census in 22 Years!

WASHINGTON DC:After the meeting of EUROSTAT Director Pieter Everaers and BiH Minister of Transport and Communications Damir Hadzic, the International Monitoring Operation (IMO) gave a positive assessment of preparations for the implementation of the Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 1-15, 2013.

“The obligation of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming period is to take full responsibility for the census. We need to meet the last preconditions and do much more, but also be aware of importance of raising the awareness of our citizens about this issue in process and procedures of conducting census - an activity that hasn’t been carried out for 22 years on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina” said Damir Hadzic, BiH Minister of Transport and Communications.

The NFCA is excited about the upcoming Census (the first since a pre-war one from 1991). “Twenty two years later (the regular 2001 and 2011 Censuses were not held), we congratulate the International Monitoring Operation (IMO) and its membership for their dedication and determination to ensure that a census is being held” said Mr. Paul Tonšetić-Kunder, President of the NFCA. The IMO is comprised of representatives of EUROSTAT, chairing the Management Group, European Commission Directorate-General for Enlargement, CoE (Council of Europe), UNSD (United Nations Statistics Directorate), UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) and UNFP (United Nations Population Fund).

“However, we are concerned that due to such a long period since the last census and due to conditions on the ground today, Croats may be underreported this time around. It’s important to note that the census is an important statistical tool that will certainly be used for determining the demographic facts of the BiH population regarding various religious affiliation, nationality, language, etc. The outcome of the census will most certainly form the basis for short and long term national strategies, economic and political systems and other priorities moving forward´
” said Mr. Paul Tonšetić-Kunder

The National Federation of Croatian Americans alerts all Croat Bosnians living in the United States, in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and around the world to register in early October for the first national census in twenty-two years. It is important for all Croatian Americans with Bosnian dual citizenship and/or Bosnian citizenry to register for the census to ensure that Croats will remain one of the three constituent peoples of BiH - according to the Dayton Peace Accords – and NOT fall into minority status.

Attached is a very detailed announcement about this important October 1 – 15 census program by the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. If any difficulty develops using the above web site to participate in the census, please access the Embassy’s web site at www.bhembassy.org and click on “Census” in the middle of the web page under Upcoming Events.

"Secession from Bosnia: a bluff?"
Jan Mus, European Union observer

EUOBSERVER / COMMENT - International calls to solve the Bosnian problem have recently intensified significantly. The lingering political stalemate has disabled the means of any major reforms in the country, while the behaviour of political leaders, in particular Republika Srpska Prime Minister Milorad Dodik, threatens the territorial integrity of the country. more
